CALL FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST

GRAPHIC DESIGN OPPORTUNITY: CONCERT PROMOTION MATERIALS FOR THE 2026–2027 SEASON

One Voice Chorus invites Calgary-based graphic designers to submit an expression of interest in creating concert promotion materials for the 2026–2027 season. Designers who wish to be considered are asked to email the required materials to OVC’s General Manager generalmanager@onevoicechorus.ca by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 31, 2026.

OVC’s Board of Directors appreciates the time and care reflected in each submission and will select a designer by Saturday, August 15, 2026.

OVC will then enter into a contract with the selected designer for the delivery of these services.

Graphic Design Opportunity

The selected designer will support OVC’s 2026–2027 concert season by creating posters and related graphic materials for the following concerts:

1.       “Aether” — Saturday, December 12, 2026, at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church

  • Also known as the fifth element or quintessence, “Aether” refers to the material once believed to fill the region of the universe beyond the terrestrial sphere.

  •  This concert celebrates the Sun, Moon, and stars.

2.       “Still and Always” — Sunday, May 30, 2027, at the University of Calgary’s Eckhardt-Gramatté Hall

  • This concert reflects on the deeply human experiences of love and loss.

Required graphic pieces for each concert (all full-colour):

1.       Poster (print & electronic) – 8.5” x 11” – portrait or landscape – PDF, 300 dpi

2.       Postcard (print) – 4” x 6” – portrait or landscape (scaled-down version of poster) – PDF, 300 dpi.

3.       Cover artwork for concert program – 5.25” x 8.5” – portrait orientation – JPG or PNG, 300 dpi.

4.       Concert Program  – 5.50” x 8.5” – portrait orientation – JPG or PNG, 300 dpi.

5.       Website graphic – 145 pixels x 215 pixels – JPG, 72 dpi

6.       Graphic for Facebook event page (banner) – 784 pixels x 295 pixels – JPG or PNG, 72 dpi

7.       Graphic for INSTAGRAM (banner) – 1500 pixels x 500 pixels – JPG or PNG, 72 dpi

Submission Requirements

1.       A summary of your graphic design experience

2.       Samples of your previous graphic design work, in PDF format

3.       A brief description of your initial poster ideas for each concert

(Note: All submitted ideas will be held in strict confidence and will not be used by OVC in any way without the designer’s explicit permission. The OVC Board of Directors may invite the selected designer to further develop one or more submitted ideas into poster concepts.)

4.       The proposed fee for this design project

5.       An estimate of the number of hours required to complete the project.

6.       Confirmation of your ability to meet the design timelines
